Ukraine
1.4 million people in eastern Ukraine are left without access to safe water, and a further 4.6 million people with only limited access, UNICEF reports.
Additional 340,000 people risk losing access to safe water if a reservoir in Horlivka runs dry.
In Donetsk and Makiivka water is provided once every few days. The most critical situation in Mariupol. Tens of thousands of people are forced to use «dirty springs as they search for any water they can find».
This can trigger epidemics including cholera, diarrhoea, skin infections and other deadly infections.
