The photo of 58-year-old Mykhailo Romaniuk, killed on the road to Bucha, spread all over the world: the body of a man with a bicycle lay on the street until the very liberation of the city by the Ukrainian army
The man was on his way to the military enlistment office to join the local territorial defense forces and defend Ukraine.
Romaniuk's family is living in Lutsk now. His mother spoke about the last day of her son's life: "He said he could not sit in the basement while the aggressors were trying to seize Ukraine. My heart was breaking, he said. He went to the military enlistment office and reassured me that he would live a long life".
