The investigation found that in May last year, three soldiers of the 39th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of the Red Banner, belonging to the 68th Army Corps of the Eastern Military District, stopped a car with two civilians during the occupation of the city of Izyum.
The invaders fired twice from a Kalashnikov near the front wheels of the car. Then they demanded money from the men, threatening that if they refused, they would shoot them to kill.
After collecting money from the victims, the Russian soldiers left. The three defendants will be sued in absentia in the Pavlograd city district court of the Dnepropetrovsk region.
