UN: 3,500 Ukrainian civilians were confirmed dead in 75 days of the war. But the real numbers are much higher.
Civilian victims from 24 February to 10 May in Ukraine amounted to 7,256 people. Among them, 3,496 civilians died as a result of russian aggression against Ukraine, according to the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights.
Including, according to confirmed UN data, 238 children died. The majority of civilian deaths are caused by shelling from heavy artillery and multiple rocket launchers, as well as missiles and airstrikes.
At the same time, the UN is confident that the actual figures are much higher: obtaining up-to-date data is impossible due to ongoing hostilities.
